Hi Hat Cleaners in 2009

The building at MacArthur and Maple was a Hagstrom’s Food Store in the 1940s and early 1950s. It appears as Sigman’s Upholstery in a 1957 Tribune ad, and as Flash Cleaners in the 1967 and 1969 directories. It’s unknown when the Hi Hat name came along, but it appears in a 1997 Tribune ad.

Some time after 2011, the glass tubes were removed and the sign was repainted.
